ATTIC SPACE MOLD REMOVAL
Attic Areas: Attics are another area that most folks don’t go into very often. Mold growth often occurs in an attic when one of the following situations happens: 1. Sofic vents have been blocked by insulation or other material. Air flow is key in an attic. If the air can’t freely flow from the sofic vents up the decking and out either the square cut out vents or the ridge vents, mold growth will occur. 2. Not enough insulation in the attic can also cause problems duri ng the winter months. The hot air from the house raises into the attic, that air hits the cold decking of the room, you then get condensation. Condensation gives the mold the moisture it needs; the decking gives the mold the food it needs. You then get a black looking mold growing all over the decking. 3. Improper venting of bathroom fans. Some folks just vent the bathroom fans into the attic. This cause warm moist air to go into the attic. That can cause mold growth! 4. Leaking roof. A leaking roof causes mold growth since it allows water into the attic. A+ Restoration has worked on 1000’s of attics over the years.
